Artist's Description

Golden hour light bathes the fallow fields and farmland in the Palouse Region of Eastern Washington. The Palouse Hills are made almost entirely of loess (pronounced “luhs”), defined broadly as wind-blown dust. Since it is usually deposited near the end point of a continental ice sheet, loess is typically considered to be a glacially-derived sediment.
